(25.5.2022~5.7.2022)
Garment Draping
---------------------------------------------------------
Theme: Zero Waste Fashion

In this project, students will continuously explore zero-waste fashion in
an actual garment. Students are required to produce THREE outfits on Actual Fabric. This project
required students to display the pattern layout and calculate the overall fabric used to understand
the zero-waste fashion concept. Students shall explore techniques from marking, fabric pinning
and positioning, and drape using the dress form. Students were also tasked to transfer all draping results
into the working paper patterns and sewing to form the complete garment.

As the awareness of our global waste, water pollution and plastic pollution crises rise, zero waste living become a quickly-growing trend nowadays. When we go to the fashion part, we have zero waste fashion.
Zero-waste fashion refers to items of clothing that generate little or no textile waste in their production. That means designer has to practice arranging all the patterns fit together like a puzzle in a fabric or design some patterns for clothing with little or no fabric waste.
Zero waste design,” or, “zero waste pattern making,” refers to the practice of designing patterns for clothing with little to no fabric waste.
